'Jigarthanda 2' to start rolling this weekend in Madurai

Karthik Subbaraj delivered the interesting action comedy film 'Jigarthanda' in 2014, and the film transformed into a super hit. Bobby Simha bagged the National Award for his role as an antagonist in the film. Karthik Subbaraj has decided to direct the sequel of 'Jigarthanda 2' next, and the official announcement was made a month back. Now, the latest report suggests that 'Jigarthanda 2' will start rolling this weekend in Madurai. Like the first part, the sequel will also be set in the Madurai backdrop, so the makers have decided to have the muhurat puja of the film in Madurai. The muhurat puja is to reportedly happen on December 11.

Raghava Lawrence and SJ Suryah willplay lead roles, while Malayalam actress Nimisha Sajayan will be the female lead to make her Tamil debut. The shooting of 'Jigarthanda 2' will commence in Madurai as soon as after the muhurat puja, and the film's first schedule is expected to be an extended one. Most part of the film is planned to be shot in Madurai, while the team will also be seen shooting in some other locations in Tamil Nadu.

'Jigarthanda' itold the story of a youngster, who desires to become a director by doing a gangster drama, and heads to Madurai to film a real-life story of a gangster. But we have to wait to see what story the director has for the audience with the sequel, whether it will be a continuation of the 2014 film or a fresh one.
