'Jailer 2': Rajinikanth lands in Kochi for the new schedule, to be shooting at THIS popular location
As the buzz builds for 'Jailer 2,' the sequel to Nélson Dilipkumar’s smash hit film 'Jailer,' the movie has entered the crucial stages of film production. With its release date of June 12 looming, there is a race against time to wrap up all the shoot-related work. Superstar Rajinikanth, reprising his iconic role as ‘Tiger’ Muthuvel Pandian, has begun work on what is being described as one of the final and most important schedules of the film. This part of production promises to be action-packed, teasing the audience for the sequel arriving three years after the original 'Jailer' created waves in mass cinema across the country.
In an unforeseen relocation, the shooting of ‘Jailer 2’ has shifted to Kerala, as Rajinikanth has arrived in Kochi to film his scenes. The scenic landscape of Kerala is sure to bring new energy to the sequel, quite different from the industrial and rough terrain of the first part. The Kochi schedule is said to be for important scenes to be filmed with Muthuvel Pandian and has been touted as the final shooting schedule. Select locations have been chosen around the scenic Athirapilly Falls to shoot sequences. Rajinikanth’s presence in the state has, of course, caused a stir among the fans, with the photos and videos from the venue going viral, building anticipation for the final leg of the film.
'Jailer 2' promises to go bigger by once again assembling an ensemble cast cutting across industries. Ramya Krishnan will be back as Muthuvel’s wife, and Shivarajkumar’s return is officially confirmed after his phenomenal performance in part one. Mohanlal and Jackie Shroff could possibly reprise their cameo roles. Going deeper into the pan-Indian cast, Vinayakan, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Santhanam, Mithun Chakraborty, and Meghana Raj Sarja have also joined the cast, with the latter returning to Kollywood. Vijay Sethupathi, the actor, revealed he will have a special appearance in the film, while Malayalam actress Anna Rajan has also been involved. Furthermore, there is a dance number that has been added to the film featuring actress Nora Fatehi, which gives it a pan-India tag.
Although the plot is missing, 'Jailer 2' has Muthuvel Pandian, a principled former cop, one who follows rules to a T, taken in by family sentiments. Written by Anirudh, the film brings back a majority of the cast and crew of the earlier film, including Vijay Kartik Kannan along with editor R. Nirmal, hoping to relive the glory of the original film. The completion of the shooting in Kerala leaves many waiting with bated breath for Nelson Dilipkumar’s thoughts on universe expansion for this sequel.
