Ilaiyaraaja connects millions of minds, says Kamal Haasan

Veteran music composer Ilaiyaraaja is celebrating his 78th birthday today and wishing have been pouring in from fans and well wishers across the globe. The Tamil film fraternity have also been wishing the music mastero through their social networking pages and the latest among them is actor Kamal Haasan, who has long history with Ilaiyaraaja.
Kamal Haasan took to his social networking page to wish his friend Ilaiyaraaja on his 78th birthday and shared a photo in which he can be seen hugging Ilaiyaraaja.Sharing the photo, Kamal Haasan posted in Tamil, which translates to, "Ilaiyaraaja is a young man for music. A youngster at heart. He translates memorable events into songs. My heartfelt birthday wishes to the maestro who connects millions of hearts."

It’s been 45 years since Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja made his debut as a composer with the album Annakkili (1976). In his distinguished career, the maestro and Kamal Haasan have worked on numerous memorable films together including hits such as Virumaandi, Hey Ram and Sadma. Their last collaboration was the 2005 Tamil comedy Mumbai Express.
