debut with Prabhu Solomon’s next. Ask Vishnu Vishal if he is happy in his space, and he says, “I am very content today. Initially, I’d be sceptical of taking up challenging roles because I didn’t have that confidence. I would be like, idhellam ennala panna mudiyuma? But with every film, I’ve grown. I’m the biggest critic of my films; whenever I see a movie on screen, I point out various instances where I could have done better.”

Interestingly, Vishnu is passionate about cricket, and he’s been playing for leagues as well. Does he regret not being able to pursue the sport full-time? “Apart from playing really well, a cricketer’s dream is to be a crowd-puller. I think I’m partially living that dream. As an actor, I’m able to entertain the audience. In fact, I owe a lot to the sport. I was able to pull off the role of a kabaddi player in my debut film (

) because of the confidence cricket gave me. I played a cricketer in Jeeva… a lot of good things have happened to me because of cricket. It’s been a few years since I touched my bat, but I’m hoping to get back to it soon,” he signs off.
