From MR Radha being arrested as he tried to kill MGR to actor Darshan murdering his fan - here are some mysterious cases from South cinema

Actor and producer Darshan Thoogudeepa was recently accused of murdering his fan Renuka Swamy and apart from the murder charges, the police have charged the actor under 8 more accusations and the case has been registered. While along with Darshan and Pavithra Gowdam 17 others have been accused in the case, here's taking a look at many mysterious cases that took place in South cinema over the years!

TV actress Sangeetha Balan was arrested in 2018 for allegedly running a prostitution racket. The actress had reportedly lured in young girls promising them roles in TV shows and the actress was sentenced to imprisonment after the police caught her with enough evidence.

Actor Shaam was arrested along with 12 others by the Chennai police and it was alleged that the actor was involved in gambling. A search based on a tip led to the accusation of the actor playing cards for money along with tokens and later the actor was released on bail.

Actor Mansoor Ali Khan was arrested in 2001 and was accused in a rape case. The actor was initially sentenced to 7 years of imprisonment and was imposed a fine of Rs 10 lakhs but later it was proven that the complaint was false and the actor in turn asked for a huge sum of compensation from the court for loss of his film career and reputation.

The MR Radha and MGR case is one of the most popular cases in South cinema. It was alleged that the former tried to shoot MGR with a gun and following the court proceedings, MR Radha was sentenced to seven years by the court and later with his plea the imprisonment was reduced to five years.
