Following 'Jailer'; roles that Rajinikanth could replay!

Actor Rajinikanth is currently shooting for his 169^th film ‘Jailer’ directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. Over the past few decades, Rajinikanth has given hundreds of hits and he is still the ‘superstar’ of Kollywood. Starting his career in the mid-1970s till now, Rajinikanth has played various roles and a few roles are imprinted in the hearts of the people. He was last seen in 2021 with the film ‘Annaatthe’; though it did not become a blockbuster hit, the movie became a commercial success. With ‘Jailer’ fans are expecting Rajinikanth to make a comeback as the star who rules the box office.

With Rajinikanth working for ‘Jailer’ now; here are a few roles that we want the actor to play again!

Lokesh Kanagaraj is one of the successful and young directors of Kollywood and he has not given a flop to date. His films Maanagaram’, ‘Master’, ‘Kaithi’, ‘Vikram’ all made it top at the box office and the director now has his own cinematic universe. Fans are eager to watch Rajinikanth be part of the Loki cinematic universe.

Following a down-run for a few movies, ‘Sivaji’ was a film that marked the comeback of the actor once again at the box office. The movie was released in 2007. Later, in 2012 the movie was also made into a 3D version, and it was cut short to 155 minutes. The movie won a National Award as well and apart from India, the film had a good run at the international box office as well. Recently, the movie makers also made a statement that the plans for ‘Sivaji: The Boss’ are in place and the movie will be made if there is a strong story.

Rajinikanth made a storm with the film ‘Baasha’ in 1995. The movie was released for Pongal, and it ran in theatres for nearly 15 months. The movie was a blockbuster, and it became one of its most successful films of Rajnikanth. The film was once again re-released in 2017 and the film had a massive response from the audience to watch the re-runs. Even today, fans would like to see Rajinikanth take up the role of Maanik Baasha. The film is a cult classic.

Rajinikanth made his debut with the film ‘Apporva Raaganagal’ in which he played the antagonist opposite Kamal Haasan. Following which he played the negative role in ’16 Vayathinile’ and ‘Moondru Mudichu’. Soon, transforming from a villain, Rajinikanth started playing the lead roles as a hero and has now become one of the top actors of Kollywood. With over 45 years into the industry, fans would like to see him once again in a negative role.
