SJ Suryah's latest film, 'Bommai', a psychological drama directed by Radha Mohan, has been released in theatres today, June 16. The actor has his next film, 'Mark Antony' directed by Adhik Ravichander, which will be hitting theatres soon.
In an interview with a regional media outlet, director Adhik Ravichander explained how he managed to get SJ Suryah on board with the film 'Mark Antony'. Reportedly, after the success of his role in 'Maanaadu' as the antagonist, SJ Suryah first declined his role in the film 'Mark Antony' reasoning that he had already established his character as a villain and did not want to continue doing a similar role.
Adhik Ravichander in the interview also said that when he initially approached SJ Suryah, stating that he was making a movie with Vishal as the lead, he did not comply but later did after listening to the story. SJ Suryah agreed to play the antagonist in the movie. Adhik Ravichander also revealed that he narrated the story by mimicking SJ Suryah himself, which the actor agreed with. The director added that he has worked with SJ Suryah for a few years, and that helped him to follow the mannerisms of the actor and director while he narrated the story.
Adhik Ravichander also reportedly stated that the audience who liked 'Maanaadu' will definitely like the film 'Mark Antony'. The film's teaser was launched by actor Vijay on April 27, and the film revolves around a twisted time travel story featuring Vishal and SJ Suryah in dual roles. The rest of the cast includes Ritu Varma, Selvaraghavan, Sunil, and Abhinaya in important roles. The music for the movie is composed by GV Prakash.
