Singer Chinmayi Sripaada and her husband Rahul Ravindran were blessed with twin babies – a boy and a girl in June this year. The playback singer took to Instagram to share the news that they are finally parents of two adorable infants. But, as the singer did not share any news relating to her pregnancy, many speculations and rumours arose that she had opted for surrogacy.
However, proving the rumours wrong, Chinmayi shared a photo of her with her baby bump during the pregnancy. Sharing the photo, she said it was the only picture she had taken of her with her baby bump last year when she was pregnant. Along with the photo, she also shared a video stating that the photo was taken during her 32
nd week of pregnancy and added that she was very sceptical about her pregnancy and wanted the news to be very private. Chinmayi also stated that she now regrets not taking many photos of her during pregnancy and said that even when she had her recordings and work, her colleagues respected her privacy and did not click any pictures.
Sharing the picture of her baby bump, she said, “The only selfie I took throughout pregnancy. The only. Here at almost 32 weeks.” In June when Chinmayi announced that she had given birth to the twins and named them Driptah and Sharvas, many had asked if she had opted for surrogacy. Taking to Instagram, she then said, “I’m absolutely loving these people who are DM-ing me asking if I had twins through a surrogate just because I didn’t post pictures of me being pregnant. Only those who were my innermost circle knew because I was protecting myself. I was and will always be guarded about my personal life, my family, my friends circle. Photos of our kids won’t be on our socials either for a long while.”
