After ‘Vishwaroopam 2’ in 2019, Kamal Haasan’s ‘Vikram’ is releasing in 2022. These four years are the longest break in Kamal’s history in cinema. Talking about his four-year break, Kamal Haasan said that he had agreed to take this break for an important cause. The actor started his political party ‘Makkal Needhi Maiam’ in 2018 and was actively participating in national and state elections.

In a recent interview, while promoting his upcoming film ‘Vikram’, Kamal Haasan stated that legendary actor Dilip Kumar rejected his request to act in the remake of Tamil film ‘Thevar Magan’. He revealed that Dilip Kumar had quit acting at that point of time, so he rejected Kamal Haasan’s offer. Kamal Haasan also said that he missed the opportunity to work with Dilip Kumar.

Speaking to the media, Kamal Haasan reportedly said that he befriended a director and became his assistant to learn the tricks and trade of a director. He added that it was at the age of 18 that director K Balachander found his strength and invented a ‘Kamal Haasan’ in the film industry. The actor reportedly said that K Balachander was his mentor and the duo worked for nearly 36 films together.

Kamal Haasan stepped into the industry when he was seven years old. He made his name as a child actor and he has acted with many superstars of Kollywood including MG Ramachandran, Sivaji Ganesan and Rajinikanth. Reminiscing the past, the actor revealed that when he lost his front two teeth, his market as a child actor came to an end abruptly. He reportedly said that as a child actor he did not have an idea of his own and was like a trained parrot. He added that he had no idea he was working with big names like MGR and Sivaji while shooting for a film.
