Suriya's highly awaited film, 'Kanguva,' has been struggling to make a mark at the box office, failing to meet the high expectations it set before its release. The film made it to the theatres on November 14, 2024, and started strong with an impressive collection of Rs 24 crore on its first day. However, it quickly saw a decline in earnings, leading to disappointing figures in the following weeks.
According to Sacnilk report, as of its fifteenth day in theatres, 'Kanguva' has grossed approximately Rs 69.10 crore in India across all languages. After earning Rs 64.3 crore in its first week, the film's collections dropped significantly in the subsequent days. It earned only Rs 47 lakhs on day 12, followed by Rs 43 lakhs on day 13 and Rs 40 lakhs on day 14. On day 15, early estimates indicate it brought in around Rs 30 lakhs.
Occupancy rates have also suggested the film's struggles. On November 28, Kanguva recorded a mere 10.41% occupancy for Tamil screenings, with morning shows at 8.49%, afternoon shows at 12.26%, and evening shows at 10.48%. The Hindi version fared even worse, with an overall occupancy of just 5.11%.

Directed by Siva, 'Kanguva' features Suriya alongside Disha Patani in the female lead and Bobby Deol playing the negative role. Both the Bollywood stars marked their Tamil debuts with this film. The film's storyline revolves around a man who protects his people from invaders a century ago and connects to a present-day cop's dangerous mission. Suriya plays the dual role of a warrior from the past and a present-day man named Francis.
