Shanaya Sharma: Punjabi as a language gives me a sense of inner peace

Model-actor Shanaya Sharma recently made her debut in the Punjabi music world with the song ‘Laare Da Ki Kariye’. Crooned by Yash Wadali, the song is a sad romantic melody, featuring Shanaya Sharma in the lead alongside Nishant Singh. The song garnered a lot of love, and so did Shanaya’s performance. As aforementioned, this is Shanaya’s first Punjabi music video. In her recent conversation with us, she told us what inspired her to make this career move. At the same time, she spilled beans on a couple of more subjects. To know all that, scroll down:

What made you make your debut in the Punjabi music world?

Ever since I was a kid, I used to go to Bangla Saheb Gurudwara. I love Gurbani so much that it made me fall in love with Punjabi and thereafter I started singing too. The Punjabi language makes me feel relaxed; it gives me a sense of inner peace! When I got a little deeper into Punjabi music, I kind of fell for its sweetness. Thereafter, I decided to be a part of the Punjabi music scene in one way or another, and finally, here I am.

Besides your own song video, which Punjabi music video is your favorite?

Honestly, I feel every Punjabi song is close to my heart. However, to answer your question, I would say that the song which melts my heart every time is 'Mann Bharrya'. Also, I am a big fan of Gurdas Maan Saab and B Praak and want to work with them!

After your debut song video, have you signed any other project?

No, I haven't entered into any contract with anyone yet. But I hope I'll get this done very soon.

Do you aspire to be a part of Pollywood?

Yes, if Guru Ji blesses me and I get me a good storyboard, it will be like a breakthrough. I'll definitely try my hands in the Punjabi film industry. It is my dream that I should work in Punjabi films so that I can show my versatility and skills wherever possible. Looking forward to getting a good offer soon. Fingers crossed!
