The Valentine week has just begun, and tomorrow will the the first weekend of the same. Now if you are planning to spend the weekend with your bae, make sure to grab some popcorn. The reason we are saying this is because here’s a list of top Punjabi romantic comedies that you must enjoy with your loved one this Valentine weekend.

2/6

‘Jatt & Juliet’

When you talk about Punjabi rom-coms, ‘Jatt & Juliet’ is the first choice. Starring the hit jodi of Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa, the movie is packed a lot of fun and the pinch of innocent romance. The story is about a young girl going to Canda for studying fashion designing, and Punjabi gabru flying to the same place for getting a green card. The plot starts with the two not being able to bear one another, but they kept on crossing ways and later the cupid pulled his arrow.

3/6

‘Jatt & Juliet 2’

Mentioning ‘Jatt & Juliet’ in the section of must-watch Punjabi romantic comedies and not talking about its sequel is a sin we don’t want to commit. Released in 2013, ‘Jatt & Juliet 2’ stars the same lead cast as its prequel - Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa. In this movie, both Diljit and Neeru essay the roles of cops - Punjab and Vancouver police respectively. The story is about Diljit Dosanjh going to Canada to bring his superior’s daughter Neeru Bajwa back to India. Yet again, the tale begins with both of them fighting and ends up falling for one another.

4/6

‘Love Punjab’

Released in 2016, ‘Love Punjab’ is one of the classics listed in Punjabi rom-coms. Starring Amrinder Gill, Sargun Mehta and Manvir Johal, the story is about a Punjabi family living in Canada. The couple (Amrinder Gill and Sargun Mehta) is planning for separation owing to a number of reasons, and on the other hand, their kid faces racism in school, which leads to depression. For their kid, Amrinder and Sargun move to Punjab and pose like a happy couple. Gradually, the two fall for each other all over again, and thus, even after their divorce, they give a second chance to their marriage in a funny but very romantic way.

5/6

‘Sardaar Ji’

Here comes another Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa movie which is best to watch with your loved one - ‘Sardaar Ji’. The movie has a mix of romance, supernatural fiction and comedy. In the movie, Diljit Dosanjh falls in love with a spirit, played by Neeru Bajwa and promises to help to have her revenge. However, then comes the love triangle with the entry of Mandy Takhar,

which leads to all the more confusion. Stuck between a spirit and girl, Diljit Dosanjh finds a solution that leads to a happy ending.

6/6

‘Qismat’

They say to keep the best for the last, and that’s what we have done here. The Ammy Virk and Sargun Mehta starrer ‘Qismat’ was one of the highest grossing Punjabi movies of 2018. The story was about a girl and guy faking a relationship to make the latter’s ex jealous, least did they know they will actually end up falling for one another. However, things didn’t come easily to them, as they were supposed to marry someone else. The two could never be with each other completely, and irrespective of being apart could stop thinking about one another.
