It was her debut Punjabi movie, wherein she shared the screen space with legendary singer-actor Harbhajan Mann. The movie made it to the theatres exactly on this day in 2004, i.e. May 7th, 2004.
Talking about the movie, it revolved around NRIs who returned to their motherland after living abroad for most of their lives. Things are good as long as they plan to stay is considered as a vacation, but change drastically when they decide to shift permanently. The movie shows the struggles of NRIs in adjusting to a completely different culture, at the same time it shows how the society resists in welcoming them as a permanent member of their world.
Released in 2004, the movie indeed was ahead of its time and raised many questions. At the same time, it conveyed the message that no matter where you live, you should never forget the values rooted in your homeland.
Further, directed by Manmohan Singh, the movie starred Harbhajan Mann, Kirandeep Kimmi, Neeru Bajwa, Kanwaljit Singh, Deep Dhillon, Navneet Nishan, Gurpreet Guggi, Preet Cheema, Vivek Shaq, Sukwinder Sukhi, Gurdeep Kaur Brar, Nirmaljeet Nijjar, Jagroop Shergill, Manav Vij and Dara Nagra.
