The Sonalee Kulkarni-starrer 'Vicky Velingkar' directed by Bollywood's popular filmmaker Saurabh Verma has made heads turn through its trailer and posters. The filmmaker Saurabh Verma’s unfolding the story of Vicky Velingkar (Kulkarni), is struggling to run her business of comic books and a clock seller who entangles in an unexpected Life Mystery. The film stars Spruha Joshi, Sangram Samel, Kettan Singh, Gaurav Devidas More, and Vanita Kharat in key roles. As the film is all set to hit the theatres on 6th December, we give you rundown of reasons to watch the psychological thriller.

The trailer of Sonalee Kulkarni starrer 'Vicky Velingkar' lives up to the hype as it appears like an interesting mystery thriller. The trailer keeps us guessing as to whether the film is a mystery thriller with Mask Man as the villain or a psychological thriller about Vicky’s mental condition. There are quite a few moments that provide a thrill. The best one is saved for the last at the moment where Vicky encounters the Mask Man.

Sonalee Kulkarni as 'Vicky Velingkar'

Marathi actress Sonalee Kulkarni is a strong and sturdy woman and can pull off any character in the best way. And due to this aspect of her personality, she has been the first choice for the film ‘Vicky Velingkar’ which requires the protagonist to be extremely strong. Directed by Saurabh Verma, Vicky Velingkar shows Sonalee Kulkarni in a tough character. The actress is seen in a powerful and strong built-up in the poster of the film. She is playing the lead character and is known as 'Vicky’ in the movie. The thriller film will show Sonalee getting in the midst of mysteries and fighting back.

For the first time in the Marathi film industry where a character ‘Mask Man’ is being introduced in a forthcoming film ‘Vicky Velingkar’. Mask Man is the main character, creating suspense, stretching curiosity among audience ahead of the release of the film. The audience is eagerly waiting to know the face behind the mask in the psychological thriller. Though the character of 'Mask Man' appears to be negative on the poster, guesses have gone wild about the face behind it. The buzz is going around about various names behind the mask, though nobody is sure about it, everyone has accepted that it’s a unique concept in Marathi industry.

Sonalee Kulkarni and Spruha Joshi to come together for the first time

Sonalee Kulkarni and Spruha Joshi have been acting in Marathi films for more than 10 years. They are also known to be good friends. However, they have never shared the screen together in any film until 'Vicky Velingkar' came their way. Speaking about their association, Kulkarni said, “We are happy that we are coming together for the first time through Vicky Velingkar. We both have been close friends over the years and we enjoyed working with each other. The story of Vicky Velingkar is very different and it is something we haven’t done before. Director Saurabh Verma has done a fine job.”

Saurabh Verma's debut directorial

'Vicky Velingkar' is Verma’s directorial debut in Marathi cinema. He has made Hindi films like Mickey Virus (2013) and 7 Hours To Go (2016) along with a few Hindi short films and television series. Saurabh has dealt with themes of depression, greed, friendship and love in a beautiful manner. So it’s natural to expect him to do so in this one too.
