'Subhedar': Digpal Lanjekar and his team visit the birthplace of Tanhaji Malusare to seek blessings; See pics

After impressing the audience with the series of movies on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and his army, starting from 'Farzand', 'Fatteshikast', 'Pawankhind' and 'Sher Shivraj', actor-director Digpal Lanjekar has announced the fifth part of the series which is titled as 'Subhedar'.

Recently, the writer-director of 'Subhedar', Digpal Lanjekar, Ajay Purkar in the title role, Smita Shewale who plays the character of his wife, Sameer Dharmadhikari who plays the strong role of Shelar Mama, the producers of the film and others visited the birthplace of Tanhaji Malusare, Godvali in Satara district.

On this occasion, Digpal also read the opening scene from the movie 'Subhedar'. While listening to the story describing the greatness of Tanhaji Malusare, the audience was filled with excitement. After that, the full-size statue of Tanhaji Malusare was worshipped at Umrath village.

On this occasion, Digpal showed the code of 'Subhedar' to the Malusare family and gave detailed information about how he researched it and presented references, historical documents and references from the film.

Subedar Tanaji Malusare was a military leader in the Maratha Empire of Chhatrapati Shivaji. He led an army that successfully captured the Kondhana fort from a Rajput fort keeper named Udaybhan Singh Rathore.

The film is slated to release in June 2023.
