'Dhurala': Here's why you shouldn't miss watching the Sameer Vidwans' multi-starrer political drama

Marathi cinema's eminent filmmaker Sameer Vidwans' upcoming Marathi film, 'Dhurala' happens to be one of the most anticipated films of 2020. The movie features multi starrer actors including Ankush Chaudhari, Amey Wagh, Umesh Kamat, Prasad Oak, Sonalee Kulkarni and Sai Tamhankar and many more. Owing to its overwhelming response, the makers of the film have decided to release the movie on January 3, 2020. Political Drama

Director Sameer Vidwans’s 'Dhurala' trailer reveals that the story revolves around the Gram Panchayat elections in a Maharashtra village. Although these elections aren’t as big as state elections, it still has all the drama and murkiness that goes with politics. The lust for acquiring political power even in a village can not only turn friends into foes but also family members into enemies.

Siddharth Jadhav and Sonalee Kulkarni sharing screen after 10 years

Marathi cinema's 'Apsara' Sonalee Kulkarni made her debut in Marathi industry with Kedar Shinde's 'Bakula Namdeo Ghotale'. Sonalee played a major role in the film opposite Siddharth Jadhav as a couple (Namdev and Bakula). After impressing the audience with their stupendous performance in the films like 'Irada Pakka'. Now, the lead star Siddharth Jadhav and Sonalee Kulkarni are set to come together after 10 years with Sameer Vidwans's 'Dhurala' as a couple.

Sameer Vidwans' directorial

After debuting successfully into Marathi cinema with the film 'Time Please', Sameer Vidwans is all set to bring to the audience multi-starrer political drama 'Dhurala'. 'Dhurala' seems to be high on drama and twists. It appears like a perfect film for those who are deeply interested in politics. Interestingly, the film is about to release just after Maharashtra saw a power-hungry game by different parties to form government in the state. He has been a part of some super blockbuster movies both as an actor and as a director. And either way, he has always won the hearts of the audience. There are high expectations riding on 'Dhurala' which is considered as the most anticipated film of 2020.

Out-of-the-box promotions

Zee Studios to come out with the most unique of promotion for its film and it will do just that! Even before the announcement of the film, the lead stars from the film created a buzz around the film by raising curiosity among the audience. Later, after the announcement and trailer launch of the movie, they released a banner of each star cast from Sai Tamhankar to Amey Wagh as they were contesting elections which raised the anticipation level among the audience and left them craving for more.

The makers also launched a 'Dhurala Game' where the audience were asked to watch to vote for their favourite star on their social media. It was a fun game and they also unveiled the 'Rada Dhurala' from the film on the occasion.

Star Cast

The trailer of the film has very successfully given us a glimpse into each one of the characters in the film. While Ankush Chaudhari plays the major role, Chaudhari’s mother (Alka Kubal). His biggest obstacle is Gadhwe (Prasad Oak). The very popular 'Mauli' star Siddharth Jadhav will be seen sharing the screen with Sonalee Kulkarni after a decade. The film also has important characters played by big names like Amey Wagh and Sai Tamhankar. Umesh Kamat makes a fleeting yet strong appearance in the end. All the characters in the movie have their own prominence and each in their own way contributes to the story of the film. And this certainly is one of the major highlights of the movie.
