Vinayan to make a movie on Mani

Director Vinayan, who was instrumental in making Kalabhavan Mani a big star, is now planning to make a movie on the actor, who recently passed away.

Vinayan says, “Mani is an actor who struggled, survived and created a niche for himself in the industry with his sheer talent. As a boy, he suffered from poverty and negligence. Even after he entered Mollywood, he had to undergo bad experiences. He was side-lined for being from a lower caste. Favouritism based on caste and colour are still prevalent in this industry. I am planning to explore every aspect of his life for the movie. Through this, I will also reveal to the world, the narrow-mindedness of people here.”
So, who will essay Mani’s character in the movie? “I have not decided it yet, but it will be a mimicry artiste. There are many ‘actors’ who had mocked Mani saying that he is a mimicry artiste and not an actor,” says Vinayan adding that Mani’s brother RLV Ramakrishnan, will be doing a pivotal role in the movie.
