Travancore Sisters

The very talented dancer trio Lalitha, Padmini, and Ragini were known as the Travancore Sisters. They were prominent actors and performers in all the South Indian film industries. Lalitha was the eldest amongst the Travancore Sisters, Padmini being the second and Ragini was the youngest sibling. The trio predominantly worked in the Malayalam film industry but also ruled the Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi film industry. Lalitha is known for her Malayalam films like Vellinakshathram, Kaanchana, Minnalppadayaali and many more. Some of the superhit films given by Padmini include Nokkethadhoorathu Kannum Nattu, Devaalayam and Kumara Sambhavam. Ragini also won the audiences heart with her films like Kalayum Kaminiyum, Puthiya Akasam Puthiya Bhoomi and Nairu Pidicha Pulivalu. Manichitratazhu actress Shobhana is Travancore Sisters' niece. Like her aunts, she is also a great actress and a well-known dancer. Lalitha passed away in the year 1982 whereas Ragini and Padmini passed away in the year 1976 and 2006 respectively.

Kalaranjini, Kalpana and Urvashi

Kalaranjini, Kalpana and Urvashi are other well-known trio in the South Indian film industry. Kalaranjini is the eldest sibling who entered the Malayalam film industry in the year 1978 with the film Madanolsavam. She is known for her films like Aasha, Theere Pratheekshikkathe and Ithramathram. The second sibling from the trio, Kalpana made her acting debut in the year 1980 as a child artist with the film Digvijayam. Kalpana won National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for the film Thanichala Njan. She is known for her films like Gandharvam, Indian Rupee, Salt N' Pepper and Bangalore Days to name a few. The youngest sibling Urvashi, whose real name is Kavitha Ranjini, is also very popular. She also started her career as a child artist in the film Kathirmandapam released in the year 1979. Urvashi also won National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the film Achuvinte Amma. Urvashi has given many hits like Nirakkoottu, Ponmuttayidunna Tharavu, Oru CBI Diary Kurippu, Mithunam and many more.

Shalini and Shamili

Both the sisters are popularly known as Baby Shalini and Baby Shamili, as they have worked as child artists in Malayalam films. Shamili even won National Film Award for Best Child Artist for the Mani Ratnam directed Tamil film Anjali released in the year 1990. She essayed the role of mentally challenged girl Anjali. She even featured in the film Mallootty, which gained her the Kerala State Film Award for Best Child Artist. She amazingly enacted the role of a girl trapped inside a narrow bore-well. Her elder sister Shalini debuted as child artist in films like Ente Mamattikkuttiyammakku in 1983. She won Kerala State Film Award for Best Child Artist for this film. Her other films include Muthodu Muthu, Sandarbham and Ente Entethu Mathrem. She debuted as a lead actress with the Fazil directed film Aniyathipravu. Her other hits include Niram and Prem Poojari.

Prithviraj and Indrajith come from a film family. They are sons of the late veteran actor Sukumaran, and actress Mallika. Both brothers have made their mark in the Malayalam film industry. Indrajith made his acting debut in the year 2002 with the film Oomappenninu Uriyadappayyan. Indrajith is well-known for his films like Meesa Madhavan, Nayakan and Ezhamathe Varavu. Prithviraj also made his acting debut with the blockbuster film Nandanam. Prithviraj is prominently known for his films like Swapnakoodu, Indian Rupee and Ananthabhadram. Both the handsome brothers are very stylish and have won the hearts of Malayalam audience. The brothers have shared screen space in Classmates, Achanurangatha Veedu and some more films. Their upcoming film together is Amar Akbar Anthony.

He directed movies like Malarvadi Arts Club, Thattathin Marayathu, Thira and Oru Vadakkan Selfie. His younger brother Dhyan Sreenivasan debuted with the film Thira that released in 2013. He is all set to star in Kunjiramayanam alongside his brother Vineeth.
