Mohanlal's ‘Loham’: Reasons to watch the film

The gripping plot

Mohanlal's second thriller of the year, Loham released today. The trailer of the film was released on August 18. Ranjith directed Loham's trailer reveals that the lead actress Andrea is travelling from Mumbai to Kerala for a purpose. She hires a taxi whose driver is Mohanlal. But eventually she finds out that Mohanlal is not a taxi driver but has a hidden identity which is revealed seemingly in the second half. The film is reportedly based on smuggling of gold in Kerala.

Mohanlal – Andrea first time pairing

Actress-singer Andrea Jeremiah, who made her Malayalam film debut with the film Annayum Rasoolum is paired opposite superstar Mohanlal. It will be very interesting to see this fresh pair onscreen. The young actress is looking uber cool in her urban chic avatar. There are some fun and light moments between the leads shown in the trailer. But the films promises more intense scenes between them as the story progresses.

Superstar Mohanlal is back with another thriller after Lailaa O Lailaa. His character of a taxi driver is shown as a very funny and innocent character. But his subsequent transition is shocking and very interesting. Mohanlal, who is often called as 'The Complete Actor', does full justice to his role. His dual character play is sure to keep his fans hooked to their seats.

Mohanlal-Ranjith duo is back

After the blockbuster hit Spirit that released in the year 2012, Ranjith has directed Mohanlal in Loham after three long years. This is their fifth film after Raavanaprabhu (2001), Chandrolsavam (2005), Rock & Roll (2007) and Spirit (2012). This first Onam release of the year has got a very positive response from their fans. The film has got a bumper opening on Thursday. Director Ranjith won National Film Award for Best Film on Other Social Issues in the year 2012 for the Mohanlal-starrer Spirit.

Loham is released in over 250 theatres all over India, with 1000 shows screened daily. The film until now has got positive reviews. The trailer was not as gripping as the movie is said to be. Many fans posted in social media gave live updates for the film and stated that it is a very interesting film with a shocking interval scene.
