Meera Jasmine


Meera Jasmine has always been embroiled in controversies. One such instance was when she publicly bashed up her family publicly on a property dispute between them. This incident had happened when she was at the peak of her career. She was later criticised by the media and her fans for publicising her family brawl.

Jagathy Sreekumar


In the finale of a reality show, Jagathy openly criticised the host, Ranjini Haridas, for her alleged fake accent and passing judgements despite being a host. This did not go down well with the celebrities present there and even the audience. Due to this incident, Jagathy received brickbats from several people, media, celebrities and even his fans.

Mohanlal


Mohanlal allegedly openly supported Sanjay Dutt when he was sentenced to imprisonment. He stated that, "Over the last 20 years, my colleague and friend Mr Sanjay Dutt has been a reformed and good citizen, a loving family man and a person who has braved adversity and come out stronger and better. He certainly deserves our compassion and help to put this chapter behind him once and for all. I sincerely hope and pray that he is shown the leniency he truly deserves and is granted a pardon." According to a TOI report, this statement was given by Mohanlal when he was conferred the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army of India.

Kavya Madhavan


Actress with an unconventional voice, Kavya Madhavan, was openly bashed by the dubbing artists association. She allegedly passed lewd comments during the promotions of her film, Madampi. She stated that while watching her film, she felt awkward for her dubbed voice. She was highly criticised for her statement, as her voice is dubbed in many of her films.

Dileep


Manju Warrier took a break from her film career after she chose to marry Dileep. People expected her to continue doing films, even after marriage as she was reigning at that point in time. But Dileep had allegedly stated that he will never allow his wife to continue her career and work. He openly stated that he wants his wife to be a homemaker and look after the family. This did not go well with the working women, which landed him in a big controversy.

Prithviraj is controversy’s favourite child as he is very outspoken and doesn’t shy away from voicing his opinions. He allegedly disagreed to the strike of actors organised by Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA). The organisation had almost made the decision of banning him from films.
