The state is continuing to be under lockdown to curb the spread of coronavirus. The shoots are yet to be resumed, so most of the stars are staying at their home. Although there weren’t any huge announcements in M-Town this week, a few celebs made headlines. From Meena speaking about celebrating three decades as a lead actress to Prithviraj Sukumaran exposing his impersonator on social media and later forgiving him, here’s are the Mollywood celebrities who made headlines this week.

Meena is celebrating a major milestone in her career. The diva who ventured into cinema in 1981 as a child actor has completed 40 years in the cinema of which 30 as a lead actress. In a conversation with Kochi Times, the actress spoke in length about her journey in cinema. “Now I would like to do a character with negative shades. The audience mindset is changing, so while earlier, we had to think of whether a role would suit our image, now people understand that it is just a character,” she said.

Tovino Thomas and his little munchkin Tahaan made headlines this week. Tahaan turned one recently and proud dad Tovino and mama Lidiya threw him a small birthday party. Tovino, his wife Lidiya, their elder daughter Izza, and the birthday boy twinned in white and mint green outfits, and the birthday boy got a Lion King-themed cake.

Actor Sanusha’s note on body positivity made headlines this week! The ‘Kaazhcha’ actress slammed the people who body-shamed her like a boss. In her note, she spoke about the need for body positivity. “Oh yes!! To everyone who’s been mentioning about my weight, worrying about it & being bothered by it too much, maybe even more than me mostly… Sweetheart, you don’t exist solely to lose weight & be pretty,” Sanusha said in her post. And the post undeniably won hearts.

Kunchacko Boban launched a new challenge #ChackochanChallenge through his social media. As lockdown in Kerala has been extended from June 9 to June 16, the actor decided to cheer up the netizens, by making them a part of the challenge and also helping the people in need. On day one of the challenge, the actor donated smartphones for students to help them attend online classes. And on the second day, he planted a tree and encouraged his fans to go green and plant trees.

Clubhouse, the audio-only social media app has been gaining popularity and many fake profiles were created in the names of movie stars. Prithviraj Sukumaran had earlier clarified that he is not on the platform, however, it didn’t shake the imposter. The star finally exposed the man behind the fake profile. The impersonator later put a post explaining that all he did with the profile was just entertaining people by imitating some dialogues delivered by the star. And Prithviraj Sukumaran forgave his fan and said, “It’s alright. I understand that it was all meant to be a harmless joke. But I hope by now you’ve realized that something like this could have very serious repercussions,” and he once again stated that he is not on Clubhouse.
