Meena's husband passes away
Actress Meena’s husband Vidyasagar passed away on Tuesday (June 28). He was 48. Vidyasagar, who developed a lung infection, and was under treatment. However, on Tuesday night his condition deteriorated and breathed his last. Meena and Vidyasagar got married in 2009, and they have an 11-year-old daughter Nainika.

Vijay Babu was arrested and later released on bail
Malayalam actor-producer Vijay Babu, who was accused of raping a budding actress was arrested on Monday. He was being interrogated by the police from June 27, and the police recorded the arrest and were later left on bail, as he had earlier secured anticipatory bail. The investigation into the matter is progressing, and the police took him to a hotel in Kochi, as part of evidence collection, as the alleged rape took place there.

Ambika Rao passes away
Malayalam actor and assistant director Ambika Rao passed away on Monday (June 27) night, after suffering from a cardiac arrest. She was 58. She was reportedly undergoing treatment after contracting COVID-19. Best known for her performance in ‘Kumbalangi Nights’, Ambika Rao has worked in the industry for nearly two decades.

Suresh Gopi’s next is ‘Highway 2’
Superstar Suresh Gopi turned 64 this week. The actor celebrated his birthday with dear ones and a few updates regarding his upcoming film too came out. Suresh Gopi will be reuniting with acclaimed filmmaker Jayaraj for ‘#Highway2’, Touted to be a mystery action thriller, the film will go on the floors soon. The upcoming film is expected to be a sequel to Jayaraj’s 1995 release ‘Highway’ featuring Suresh Gopi.

Ranjith Shankar announces his next
Ranjith Shankar who has previously delivered films like ‘Passenger’ and ‘Njan Marykutty’ has announced his next. Titled ‘4 years’, the upcoming film is touted to be a campus drama. “Announcing our next. 4 years is about Gayathri and Vishal, their college sunrises, canteen sunsets, and hostel midnights. More on cast and crew soon,” the director said, announcing the film.
