Popular actor Bheeman Raghu is turning director with ‘Chaana’. The film tells the story of a cutler, who migrates from Tenkasi to Kerala with his family. Bheeman Raghu has roped in to play the lead role of Kanakan in the film, and the post-production works are progressing.

Actor-producer Vijay Babu is on the run currently, after being accused of rape by an actress. The Kerala Police has planned to initiate steps to issue a red corner notice against him if he does not produce himself on Tuesday evening. Meanwhile, on May 24, Vijay Babu’s counsel produced an air ticket in HC, citing that the actor will land in Kochi on May 30. On the other hand, the Kerala Police has asked CBI to take up the red corner notice, and bring back Vijay Babu who is now in Georgia.

Mohanlal and Priyadarshan are reuniting for an exciting project ‘Olavum Theeravum’, a segment for an anthology, based on prolific author-scenarist-filmmaker MT Vasudevan’s short stories. The duo will reportedly begin filming in July and Santosh Sivan will wield the lens for the segment. The anthology apparently has 10 segments, each handled by noted filmmakers, and Priyadarshan will be directing two segments.

Dijo Jose Antony’s second directorial ‘Jana Gana Mana’, featuring Prithviraj Sukumaran and Suraj Venjaramoodu in the lead roles had hit the big screens on April 28. The film has received rave reviews from the audience, and has recently entered the 50 crore club. “Thank you for the 500 million love! Thank you for making #JanaGanaMana such an iconic success! ��❤️��,” Prithviraj Sukumaran said, confirming the same.

The survivor in 2017 Kerala actress assault case approached the Kerala High Court on May 23, alleging that there was a move to derail the probe and sought intervention into the matter. The survivor, also made allegations against the trial court saying the presiding officer has some ‘vested interest to save the culprits’.
