‘Sookshmadarshini’ box office collections day 19: Nazriya’s mystery film mints Rs 50.2 crores

Nazriya has made her magnificent comeback to the Malayalam film industry with the recently released mystery film ‘Sookshmadarshini’.

According to the Sacnilk website, ‘Sookshmadarshini’ has collected Rs 50.2 crores worldwide, and from India, the movie has made a high of Rs 25.43 crores in 19 days. The India gross collections for the Basil Joseph starrer amount to Rs 28.7 crores and the Overseas collections stand at Rs 21.5 crores om 19 days.

Coming to the Kerala box office, ‘Sookshmadarshini’ has collected Rs 25.43 crores in 19 days, and on day 19 the movie has minted Rs 23 lakhs as per the early estimates by the website. Looking at the collection figures, ‘Sookshmadarshini’ seems to maintaining its ground at the box office even after the arrival of the most-awaited ‘Pushpa 2’ and other films such as ‘Amaran’, ‘Kanguva’ and many more.


ETimes rated the film with a solid 4.0 out of 5 and our review reads, “Writers Libin TB and Athul Ramachandran have cleverly deconstructed a situation and rebuilt it into a cinematic plot from a very novel perspective, which is basically about attitudes and acceptance. One drawback that can be pointed out is with the characterisation. Why is Priyadarshini’s character so invested in the problem of Manuel’s mother, to an almost annoying extent? Her skepticism could have been explained as some cute character trait from the beginning. Of course, Nazriya brings her easy charm, combined with an admirable maturity to the role. All the other actors, Kottayam Ramesh, Aathira Rajeev, Manohari Joy, and particularly Sidharth Bharathan, who brings an understated comedic energy to his role, make great contributions to the intricate layers of the film.”


On the other hand, Basil Joseph has been delivering back to back hits recently, starting from Vipin Das directorial ‘Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey’ to Jeethu Joseph's ‘Nunakkuzhi’.
