Siju Wilson stars as warrior Aarattupuzha Velayudha Panicker in Vinayan film ‘Pathonpatham Noottaandu’

,’ actor Siju Wilson plays the role of the 19th century warrior Arattupuzha Velayudha Panicker.

A revolutionary leader who fought upper caste traditions and led an anti-cast resistance, he is also known for opening schools and other institutions for the marginalised in the society. It is said that he was often sidelined by academicians and historians that his contributions weren’t mentioned much in Kerala history and academic books.

‘Pathonpatham Noottandu’ also stars Anoop Menon, Chemban Vinod, Sudheer Karamana, Suresh Krishna, Indrans, Raghavan, Alencier, Sreejith Ravi, Sudev Nair, Jaffer Idukky, Manikandhan, Senthil Krishna, Bibin George, Vishnu Vinay, Vishnu Govind, Sphadikam George, Sunil Sugadha, Cherthala Jayan, Krishna, Biju Pappan, Byju Ezhupunna, Saran, Sundara Pndhyan, Adinadu Sasi, Manuraj, Raj Jose, Poojappura Radhakrishnan, Salim Bava, Thatteem Mutteem fame Jayakumar, Naseer Samkranthi, Koottikkal Jayachandran, Padmakumar, Munshi Ranjith, Hareesh Pengan, Unni Nair, Bittu Thomas, Madhu Punnapra, Hyderali, Kayadu, Deepti Sati, Poonam Bajwa, Renu Sundar, Varsha Viswanath, Niya, Madhuri Briganza, Gayathri Nambia, Bini, Dhruvika, Vismaya, Sreya and hundreds of junior artistes.

Interestingly, for the character, Siju has been apparently learning kalarippayattu and horse riding, along with other martial art forms, for the past six months.

The film has camera by Shaji Kumar, art direction by Ajayan Chalissery, editing by Vivek Harshan, make up by Pattanam Rasheed, costume by Dhanya Balakrishnan and sound design by Satheesh.
Director Vinayan’s last film is ‘Akasha Ganga 2,’ which starred Ramya Krishnan in the lead, released in the year 2019. He had also directed Chalakkudikkaran Changathi in the year 2018.
