Shane Nigam's 25th film starts rolling; touted to be a sports drama

Mollywood's young talent Shane Nigam has officially commenced work on his 25th film. One of the highlights of this film is the inclusion of Shantanu Bhagyaraj in a pivotal role.

The film, produced by Santosh T Kuruvilla and Binu Alexander George under the banner of STK Frames, marks the directorial debut of Unni Shivalingam. The director, who previously worked as an assistant director for the acclaimed film 'Thangam,' has penned the story and screenplay for this project.


The film revolves around the lives of four young kabaddi players. This bilingual venture, shot in both Malayalam and Tamil, will be filmed across various locations in Coimbatore, Palakkad, and Pollachi. The shoot is scheduled for 90 days.


The film's music director, a renowned figure in the industry, is set to make their Malayalam debut with this project. The identity of this talented musician is currently being kept under wraps, adding to the excitement and anticipation surrounding the film.


The technical crew of the film boasts a talented team of professionals. Cinematography will be handled by Alex J Pullikkal, while editing will be undertaken by Shivkumar Panicker, known for his work in Bollywood films like 'Kill.' Other key crew members include production designer Ashique S, makeup artist Jitesh Poyya, costume designer Melvi, action choreographer Vicky Master, and sound designer Nithin Lukose.


Meanwhile, Shane Nigam’s previous outing was with the feel-good film ‘Little Hearts’ Etimes rated the film with a solid 2.5 out of 5 and our review read, “Shane and Baburaj are adequate in their roles; it is nice to see Shine play a reticent, mature character. Mala Parvathy needs a special mention for carrying off the emotional scenes well. The film directed and co-written by Aby Treesa Paul, Anto Jose Periera, along with Rajesh Pinnadan, who also shares a writing credit, could have been a sweet enough, feel-good romance with some good lessons for the audience, but it needed a proper tightening at the writing and making stages. As it is now, the key moments feel lost as the story progresses, particularly with a messy resolution.”
