MT Vasudevan Nair gets 'Randamoozham' script back

The legal dispute between

MT Vasudevan Nair

and

director VA Shrikumar

has finally settled and the former gets back the script of his novel '

Randamoozham

'. As per the reports, MT Vasudevan Nair won the legal battle, and the script he has written based on his own novel 'Randamoozham' will be returned soon. The two parties have reportedly reached an agreement, where VA Shrikumar has stepped back from making a film on the novel and will return the script to MT and the author will have full rights over the adaptation of his work. The veteran writer will be returning the advance amount he got as an advance from the ‘Odiyan’ filmmaker.

'Randamoozham' is a masterpiece novel written by veteran author MT Vasudevan Nair and 'Odiyan' director VA Shrikumar had earlier announced a movie based on it, in the same name starring Mohanlal. According to the contract between VA Shrikumar and MT, the movie’s production should have started within three years of the agreement. The movie got delayed beyond the time stipulated in the contract and MT Vasudevan Nair initiated the legal proceedings.

MT Vasudevan Nair’s ‘Randamoozham’ is regarded as the masterpiece of the author. The novel was published in 1984. The veteran writer presented the

Mahabharata

in the perspective of Bhima through the novel.
