Manju Warrier reveals she didn't know 'Vettaiyan' was a Rajinikanth film when she agreed to work with T.J. Gnanavel

Manju Warrier’s upcoming collaboration with Rajinikanth for the action drama 'Vettaiyan' is all set to hit theaters on October 10. The actress recently won the internet with her charming performance in the song 'Manasilayo' from 'Vettaiyan'. The Mollywood star looked stylish and graceful as she grooved with Rajinikanth in this vibrant track. The movie also features Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, and more in key roles.

Interestingly, Manju recently revealed that she did not know the movie was going to be a star-studded affair when she did the look test. She also shared her first reaction upon seeing Rajinikanth for the first time.

In an interview with Sun Music, Manju Warrier recounted the story of her first-ever encounter with Rajinikanth during the look test for 'Vettaiyan'. Initially awestruck by his presence, the actress admitted that, at the time, she hadn’t realized she would be joining a project led by none other than the superstar himself. After the look test, she met Rajinikanth in his vanity van with his permission, and it was the first time she realised how humble he was.

Earlier, in a chat with Kaumudy Movies, Manju shared insights about her role in 'Vettaiyan'. She revealed that she would be portraying the wife of superstar Rajinikanth in the movie. Expressing her excitement, she conveyed her gratitude for the opportunity to work with filmmaker T. J. Gnanavel. Manju described the collaboration as a 'powerful combination,' emphasizing that the movie will undoubtedly reflect Rajinikanth's signature style. She also hinted that her character would be quite compelling, making her role a significant part of the movie.

The recently released trailer featured Rajinikanth as a cop. He will be reuniting with Amitabh Bachchan after 'Hum' (1991).
