Dulquer Salmaan and Kalyani Priyadarshan recently delivered the superhit film 'Lokah: Chapter 1' which also had a terrific cameo role by Mammootty as the character Moothon.
In a recent interview, Mammootty has shared a light-hearted story about his cameo in the sci-fi film. The superstar revealed that he was tricked into the role and that even the hand shown in the movie is not his.
During a recent interview, he spoke about how Dulquer Salmaan’s manager approached him only for a voice-over, and the rest was added without his full knowledge.
Mammootty’s 'Lokah' cameo story
Mammootty recalled the incident in an interview with THR India. He said, “They didn’t tell me that I’m there. Initially, he (Dulquer) did not come. His manager, his friend, he asked me to give a voice. Venda, no, that is the only thing I did. The hand used in the film is not mine. When the film came only, they said it’s you and your hand. Now it has become a responsibility of me to act. Actually, they cheated me and mediated. That’s the story behind it.”
He laughed while narrating how the small role turned into something bigger than expected.
Playful response on sequel
When asked about Dulquer’s comment that Mammootty would need convincing for a sequel, the actor replied humorously. He said, “I told them not only I’m if at all convinced, I have to convince you about my fees. That they have to get convinced.”
Later in the interview, he playfully asked if the interviewer had ever thought of him playing a vampire. After a positive response, he joked that it was ‘suspense’ and added ‘Inshallah’.
