Telly actress Mansi Sharma, who made inroads into Mollywood with G Marthandan’s Mammootty-starrer Accha Din, has completed the shoot of the film and is back in Mumbai. She says she misses Kerala a lot. “I was in Kerala for 15 days and this was my first visit to the God’s Own Country. I liked the place so much that I started missing it when I came back to Mumbai,” says Mansi.
The movie, which is about a North Indian couple who comes down to Kerala and the difficulties they face, will see Mansi playing a Jharkand native. Mansi says though she is not too familiar with Malayalam cinema, she had heard about megastar
Mammootty. “I have many South Indian friends, so I knew there is an actor called Mammootty, and that he’s the Amitabh Bachchan of Mollywood. And when I came to know that I am playing his wife, my happiness knew no bounds,” she recollects.
Mansi never felt homesick in Kerala, thanks to her co-star and other members of the crew, she says. “During the shoot, a lot of fans used to gather around us. I knew they all wanted to meet the megastar. However, they made me nervous as it was for the first time that I was surrounded by so many people. Mammukka knew that I was nervous and told me that they have come to meet not just him but me as well.
I felt like a kid in front of him.”
Though the Punjabi belle fell in love with Kerala and would like to come back for a vacation, she was not too happy with the Kerala cuisine. “On the set, they tried out some North Indian recipes, but failed miserably. I used to have chocolate and biscuits on the set,” she adds.
