Malayalam actresses who played mothers on screen, before experiencing motherhood in real life

Malayalam movie industry has always had exceptional talents, who have the potential to create magic onscreen. From romance to revenge, the M-Town talents could emote any sentiment effortlessly, but parenthood, especially motherhood isn’t something that could come with ease. But as mentioned earlier, Mollywood has always had enthralling performers, and here’s a list of Malayalam actresses who portrayed motherhood onscreen, before even experiencing it.

Urvashi

Urvashi is such a natural talent, that she was able to play a mother in her first film ‘Mundhanai Mudichu’. And the most interesting part about it is, Urvashi was a teenager and still in school, while she acted as a mother of a toddler in the 1983 film. It is almost impossible to come to terms that a teenager has played the intense role of a mother in the film. And her acting got refined as a wine with age.

Srividya

They say mother’s love is the purest and unconditional and no one could be in her shoes and Srividya has portrayed exactly the same onscreen. In real life, the late Srividya was married but wasn’t a mother. Despite of not being a mother, she was able to play a mom, and express the motherly affection on-screen, as if it’s real. Be it the mother in ‘Adaminte Variyellu’, ‘Daivathinte Vikrithikal’ or ‘Ente Sooryaputhrikku,’ Srividya acted with sheer excellence.

Samyuktha was unmarried and hadn’t experienced motherhood while she signed for ‘Madhuranombarakattu’. She played Priyamvada, the mother of two in Kamal’s ‘Madhuranombarakattu’ and one cannot deny that their hearts broke when Priyamvada burst into tears, upon realizing that her son is dead.
