Joju George talks about his directorial debut; says, 'I wanted that uplift in my career, so I took the risk'

Joju George is all set to make his directorial debut with the upcoming film 'Pani'. The movie, starring Joju George himself along with Abhinaya, Sagar Surya from Bigg Boss fame, Junaiz, and others in leading roles, is eagerly awaited by fans and cinephiles alike.


The excitement surrounding 'Pani' was further heightened with the release of its first look poster, which was unveiled on the sets of Bigg Boss Malayalam 6. The crew of the film graced the popular reality show as guests, where they engaged in a candid chat with the contestants.


During the interaction, Joju George opened up about his decision to venture into a new direction. He expressed that it was a carefully considered move, driven by his desire for a career uplift. "I am keen on the success rate I would achieve if the movie becomes a success. I think I need that uplift, and hence I took this risk," he revealed.

Joju also shared insights into his journey while working on 'Pani'. He admitted to moments of apprehension, fearing whether the movie would come to a halt. However, he emphasized his dedication to the project, having taken a break from all other commitments to focus solely on its development.

Set against the backdrop of Thrissur, 'Pani' revolves around the theme of revenge, promising audiences a gripping and intense cinematic experience. Apart from Joju George, the film boasts a talented supporting cast, including Sujith Shanker, Alexander Prasanth, Abhayaa Hiranmayi, Seema, Chandhini Sreedharan, Babu Namboothiri, Ranjith Velayudhan, and Bitto Davis.Notably, Joju George has not only directed 'Pani' but has also penned its screenplay, showcasing his multifaceted talent in the filmmaking arena. The movie is being produced by M. Riaz Adam and Sijo Vadakkan.
