Jeethu Joseph lauds ‘Manjummel Boys’, calls the film a ‘must theatre watch’

Acclaimed filmmaker Jeethu Joseph, best known for delivering the ‘Drishyam’ franchise, is all praise for the latest release ‘Manjummel Boys’ helmed by Chidambaram.

Jeethu Joseph, who caught the film in the cinemas on the first week of its release, underlined that ‘Manjummel Boys’ must be enjoyed in the theatres. The ‘Drishyam’ director who is a maestro himself in creating thrillers, called the Chidambaram’s directorial an ‘edge of the seat thriller’!

Jeethu Joseph took to his social media handle to share his opinion about ‘Manjummel Boys’. In a note shared on Facebook, the acclaimed filmmaker wrote, “#ManjummelBoys is an edge of the seat thriller. A must theatre watch. Hats off #Chidambaram and Congrats to the entire team.”

Helmed by Chidambaram, ‘Manjummel Boys’ features Soubin Shahir, Sreenath Bhasi, Balu Varghese, and Ganapathy in the lead roles. The film is inspired by a real-life incident of a bunch of youngsters going on a vacation to Kodaikanal and getting trapped in the mysterious Guna cave, aka The Devil's Kitchen.

Our critic rated the four out of five, and wrote, “Manjummel Boys isn't your average friendship flick packed like a survival film. If you are looking for a crisp survival film, this is it. It's an absolute marvel of visuals, absolutely good writing, characterisation, editing, acting and all the thrills. From successfully establishing the setting, which is almost decades back, to the authenticity with which the characters and their reactions to the situations are portrayed and the way the story flows seamlessly, writer and director Chidambaram has done a phenomenal job.”
