The National award-winning actress KPAC Lalitha breathed her last on Tuesday (Feb 22) at her son’s residence in Kochi. Her demise came as a shock to the Malayalam film industry and several M-Town celebs paid their tributes via their official social media handles. Starting her acting debut in the Malayalam film industry with KS Sethumadhavan’s directorial venture ‘Koottukudumbam’, released in the year 1969, the actress has breathed life into several iconic characters ranging from comedy to serious ones. KPAC Lalitha got married to the legendary filmmaker Bharathan in the year 1978. Her character in the Bharathan directorial films ‘Amaram’ and ‘Aravam’ will remain one of the most iconic roles in Malayalam cinema. KPAC Lalitha was left widowed when Bharathan succumbed to a chronic illness in the year 1998.

The legendary actress KPAC Lalitha played the role of Bhargavu in the film ‘Kaliyugam’ which was released in the year 1973. The film was directed by KS Sethumadhavan and had the actors Sudheer, Bahadoor, Jayabharathi, and Adoor Bhasi in prominent roles.
