21 years of ‘Meesa Madhavan’

Although the actor Dileep was loved by many for his magnificent performances in classic films, the actor cemented his place as a superstar with Lal Jose’s directorial drama film ‘Meesa Madhavan’. The movie hit the big screens on July 4 and although the first responses after the screening were poor for ‘Meesa Madhavan’, the film slowly gained momentum on the second day itself and is still considered to be one of the best films in Dileep’s career.

It won’t take one to answer the question regarding the best comedy film in Mollywood and all thanks to Dileep and Johny Antony for creating the out-and-out comedy film ‘CID Moosa’ which hit the big screens on July 4, 2003. Recently the director Johny Antony announced that he is planning for a sequel to the Dileep starrer ‘CID Moosa’.

18 years of ‘Pandippada’

On July 4, 2005, the director Meccartin teamed up with the superstar Dileep for the comedy entertainer ‘Pandippada. Although the movie is nowhere near being a classic, it has offered several funny moments that are still used by netizens to create memes and trolls. Dileep played an ordinary man named Bhuvana who comes to a village to sell his land to clear his debts and the situation becomes more interesting when it leads to a feud between two families. Actor Prakash Raj gave his best performance as a negatively shaded character named Pandi Durai in the movie.
