‘Christopher’: Reasons why the film is a perfect start for Mammootty this year

Movie buffs are actually in doubt on whether the upcoming Mammootty starrer ‘Christopher’ will turn out to be a profitable venture as the director B Unnikrishnan and the writer Udaykrishna’s previous outing ‘Aaraattu’ didn't work well at the box office. Even considering the same, the expectation levels are high for the movie as the audiences are really confident about the script selection of the superstar Mammootty. Here let’s take a look at some of the reasons why you should be excited about the upcoming Mammootty starrer ‘Christopher’.

Safe zone for B Unnikrishnan

One can always complain that director B Unnikrishnan is not consistent with providing hit films and his previous movie ‘Aaraattu’ turned out to be a disaster. All being said, looking at the filmography of B Unnikrishnan, he is a master at handling thriller movies and the genre is indeed a safe zone for the director. ‘Christopher’ falls under the genre of investigative thriller and for the same reason, it can be expected that B Unnikrishnan will top the game this time.

The character

Even with a mediocre plot line, Mammootty never fails to impress audiences with his masterful acting. Looking at the upcoming film ‘Christopher’, Mammootty will be playing the role of Christopher IPS and the actor would undoubtedly nail his performance in the film.

Based on true incidents

One major reason why the expectation levels are high for ‘Christopher’ is that the movie is reportedly based on some true incidents that happened in Kerala. Writer Udaykrishna, despite his flaws, is brilliant in constructing a screenplay that can engage the audience although his original stories don't work well. As the movie is based on a thrilling real incident, the only task for Udaykrishna would be to create an engaging screenplay without much effort in investing more in creating an original storyline.

Promising teaser

‘Christopher’s teaser features Mammootty in a stylish action avatar and the overall making of the movie is truly impressive. The teaser also gives us the same vibes of the superhit B Unnikrishnan's film ‘The Grandmaster’ and the expectation levels have indeed soared among the audiences. Shine Tom Chacko’s police character also seems to be quite an interesting one.
