‘Anjaam Pathira’ is an investigative thriller directed by Midhun Manuel Thomas. The film tells the story of a team of police officers along with Anwar Hussain, a psychologist, investigating a series of murders taking place in a city. The brutal murderer has his own ways of hunting down his targets and the investigating team is trying hard to solve the puzzle. The film gives the viewers a nail-biting edge of seat experience.

Mayaanadhi

Aashiq Abu’s directorial ‘Mayaanadhi’ is indeed a mystic river like it’s title says. It is an intense story of a young couple. Appu (Aishwarya Lekshmi) and Mathan (Tovino Thomas) are in a romantic relationship and the film is plotted around a universal topic. But Mathan and Appu’s relationship and its beauty are portrayed in a poignant way that one would be entirely bewitched into their universe when the film ends. The tale of Appu who dreams of making a career in movies and Mathan who wants nothing but settle down with her in a safe place will undoubtedly cast a spell on the cinephiles.

The Asif Ali starrer ‘O.P.160/18 Kakshi: Amminippilla’ is a lovely film about Amminipilla (Ahamed Siddique) who gets married off to a woman, whom his parents chose. Amminipillai cannot stand the sight of his bride Kanthi, who is a plus-size woman. The movie travels through the journey of the couple, the husband filing a divorce petition and the village belle Kanthi, trying her best to win him back. The movie talks about body positivity, the relationship between a husband and wife, and much more.

Released in 2017, ‘Solo’ is an experimental thriller directed by Bejoy Nambiar featuring Dulquer Salmaan in the lead. The movie is an anthology, which tells four different stories that are interconnected with the four elements - Earth, Fire, Wind, and Water, each with the facets of Lord Shiva. The movie explores different emotions and is a gripping watch.
