Dileesh Pothan’s Malayalam film ‘Am Ah’ has officially landed on the OTT platform, starting , April 18, 2025.

Where to watch

Released in theatres earlier this year on January 24, the movie received a mixed response upon release, but is now being discovered anew by OTT audiences. The streaming platform announced the release with the caption: “Love can be found anywhere, especially if you look close enough! Follow the story of Stephen visiting Kavantha, Watch Am Ah, streaming on SunNXT Now!!”

A slice of life within a crime thriller

‘Am Ah’ masterfully blends the sensibilities of a slice-of-life drama with the tension of a slow-burn thriller. It follows the journey of Stephen, a road construction supervisor who has lived a monotonous life. A visit to the village of Kavantha, however, changes everything. What starts as a regular work-related visit soon becomes a soul-searching journey as Stephen is slowly swept into the scenic world and the heartfelt stories of the village. In the process, he uncovers not just mysteries around him but truths about himself and the meaning of love in the most unexpected ways.

Performances and music stand out

Dileesh Pothan leads the film with a restrained and deeply emotive performance as Stephen. He is supported by a talented ensemble cast including Devadarshini, Jaffar Idukki, Meera Vasudev, T.G. Ravi, and Sruthy Jayan. The direction by Thomas K. Sebastian adds a poetic touch, while Kaviprasad Gopinath’s writing keeps things grounded and compelling. Gopi Sundar’s background score subtly elevates the emotional beats of the narrative.etim

Our review

ETimes gave the movie a rating of 2.5 stars out of 5 and our official review reads, “In terms of performances, Dileesh Pothan delivers a generally stable portrayal of Stephen but crosses into unsettling territory in a specific scene where he confronts the grandmother and granddaughter. The intensity in this scene feels unwarranted and makes the character come across as creepy. Devadarshini shines in the first half but falters occasionally in the second. Jaffar Idukki, as the ward member, has too many grating dialogues, especially during Stephen's house introduction and the summit journey. Overall, Am Ah had the ingredients for a compelling suspense drama but leaves much of its potential unexplored.”
