Aakasha Ganga 2 movie review highlights: A decent first half that generates expectations on the upcoming horror tale

, which comes 20 years after its original, Aakasha Ganga.

The film starts with the song Puthumazhayayi Vannu Nee, as the backstory gets narrated through graphics. Newbie actress Veena Nair, who plays the film’s lead Arathi, resembles the 1999 film’s heroine Divya Unni who played the character Maya.

As for the sequel’s story, Maya’s daughter Arathi Varma – an atheist – takes up the challenge of her friends to talk to her late mother. After 20 years of her demise post-delivery, Maya appears to her daughter to reveal secrets of their family. Will Arathi, a medical student, and her friends believe evil spirits are all around them?

The two hours 20 minutes movie is weaved with a lot of comedy scenes, alongside scares. The nostalgic element of Akasha Ganga adds to the entertainment quotient of the movie. Suporting actors Praveena, Vishnu, Sreenath Bhasi, Dharmajan, Thesni Khan and Riyaz too have done their part well. Cinematography and music are also executed well.
