No sooner had Kannada film star
Ramya filed her papers as candidate for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from Mandya Parliamentary constituency as a
Congress nominee, her foster father R T Narayan (77) suffered a massive heart attack and died on Saturday.
Narayan, as well as MLA and Kannada star Ambareesh, had accompanied Ramya to Mandya where she filed the nomination papers. He collapsed as she was talking to media soon after the filing at around 3.50 pm. He was rushed to the hospital, but was declared dead by 5.15 pm.
Narayan, an industrialist, had been the foster father of Ramya since she was five years old. He had encouraged Ramya’s foray into politics.
