Poornachandra Tejaswi’s Daredevil Musthafa gets film version with Poornachandra Mysore and Nagabhushan

The film will be directed by debutant director Shashank Soghal
A

popular short story Daredevil Musthafa

, that was penned by famous Mysore-based Kannada writer Poornachandra Tejaswi, will now be made into a movie by the

debutant director Shashank Soghal

. Retaining the title as the name of the film, this one will star actors Poornachandra Mysore and Nagabhushan.

“Poornchandra Mysore will be seen in the role of a Muslim guy called Usman and Nagabhushan will be portraying the role of Sarpabhushan, who is a teacher wants to impact right values among students. Both these characters add twist to the plot. The entire story takes place in a junior college, so we have got fresh faces to play the role of PUC students,” says Shashank, who has dabbled with direction with a short film called Patinga.

About the challenges of working on a film based on literary work, Shashank tells us, “Among Poornachandra Tejaswi’s work, Daredevil Musthafa is the shortest story. The kind of language used in his books will be tough to use for the film, so we are penning dialogues in such a way that it is simple and relevant. The essence of the story is humanity of above all religion. There will also be songs. The shoot will commence in Mysuru from October. The project will also see Mandya Ramesh and Umesh in prominent roles.”
