I’m a wife and a mom, with a thriving film career: Kushee

Kushee Ravi is one of the many Kannada actresses who are also working in films in other languages. Back from the shoot of her latest Telugu film that sees her star alongside Srikanth, who is originally from Tamil cinema, she points out that the boundaries between, at least, the south film industries are blurring.
“Telugu cinema is known for its commercial outings, but this one is a horror film that steps away from the larger-than-life presentation of characters. While I understand that the concept of horror films isn’t new, I liked how the team has approached this subject and more importantly, it offers me the chance of contributing equally to the film as it is not just about song and dance for the actor,” says Khusee, who adds that it was her Kannada hit Dia that paved her way into Telugu cinema. “In a way, Dia has become the benchmark of my career. I hope directors and writers etch characters like her and offer them to me,” she says.
