On the special occasion of his 42nd birthday, let's look back at some of his most enchanting performances to date

Actor Vijay Raghavendra turns 42 today. Having begun his acting career as a child artist, Vijay Raghavendra made immediate strong impressions and even went on to win the National award for the best child artist for his role in 'Kotreshi Kanasu'. A prolific dancer too, Vijay Raghavendra has enthralled the Kannada Cinema audiences immensely over the years and created a specific niche for himself in the industry. As he forges on with more interesting roles, let's take at some of his best and most memorable acting roles. Here we go:

Chinnari Mutha (1993)

While most members of the Rajkumar clan started out as child artists, Vijay Raghavendra took the job a bit more seriously. He would star in lead roles as a junior artist and score grand opportunities of working alongside some of the best directors at the time. In T.S. Nagabharana's 1993 film 'Chinnari Mutha', Vijay starred as the enigmatic Mutha and his endearing performance won him the Best Male Child Actor award at the 1993-1994 Karnataka State Film Awards.

Kotreshi Kanasu (1994)

Following the tremendous success of 'Chinnari Mutha', Vijay Raghavendra would go on to star in yet another landmark role in 'Kotreshi Kanasu'. Under the abled guidance of Nagathahalli Chandrashekhar, Vijay Raghavendra delivered a superb performance that was filled with vibrance and innocence, thus winning him his very first National award in the Children's category.

Sevanthi Sevanthi (2006)

Although Vijay Raghavendra's first starring role as an adult came in 2002, it seemed that the actor in him was still trying to find that perfect groove. Aside from being an accomplished actor, he was also a highly skilled dancer who withheld a lot of grace and it was in S. Narayan's 2006 musical drama 'Sevanthi Sevanthi' that his untapped talent finally came to the fore. Along with Ramya and others, Vijay Raghavendra excelled in a fun-filled film about music and folklore which fetched him great results at the box office too.

Kallarali Hoovagi (2006)

Vijay Raghavendra would return to collaborate with his 'Chinnari Mutha' director T.S. Nagabharana in the 2006 period film 'Kallarali Hoovagi'. Set in 1772, during the reign of Chitradurga's last ruler Madakari Nayaka, the film was an intense love story between a Hindu boy (played by Raghavendra) and a Muslim girl (played by Umashankari). Yet again, it seemed as though Vijay Raghavendra was right in his comfort zone as he charmed the audiences with his grace and smoothness.
