There are minor hiccups for Yash's new film Masterpiece which is releasing this week. The first was in the form of a complaint by the team of Jaatre. A huge cutout of Yash replaced that of Jaatre star Chetan Chandra's cutout in front of Santhosh Theatre. Even with four days to go for Masterpiece's release in Santhosh, the cutout of Jaatre playing in the neighbouring Sapna Theatre was removed. Now, another trouble is brewing in Mandya and Mysuru. The movie crew of Mandya Star has claimed that Yash was invited to be part of the movie along with the other huge stars of the industry. When we tried reaching Yash, even being at home, he refused to talk. Later, we contacted him saying that we are children of farmers and are trying to make a movie which other stars are also supporting. He said, “There are many people in Mandya who are farmer's children, so we cannot come. Let other stars only do it. I cannot be part of it.“
Irked by the way Yash reacted to the movie crew, they are spreading the word of staging a protest to stall the screening of Yash's film in many parts of Karnataka. They have created a poster claiming to protest with the support from Raitha Sangha (Farmers Union) and children of farmers on Thursday, when Yash's Masterpiece movie will be releasing. A protest will be held in front of all the theatres to stop the screening of the movie until the actor comes out and apologies the movie crew, fans and farmers of the Mandya and Mysuru region, the region from which Yash has got his stardom.
Masterpiece is one of the most awaited films of the year. Yash is riding on a big wave of success in the last few years and his last film Mr & Mrs Ramachari created records in box office collections. This film is releasing exactly a year after the previous one. Thus, there is an unprecedented hype around the film. Most of the theatres for the film have been booked months in advance and there is hardly a chance for smaller films.
