67th Parle Filmfare Awards South: Honors for late Kannada actors Puneeth Rajkumar and Chiranjeevi Sarja

Filmfare Award South turned toward Bangalore this time as the 67th award ceremony happened today (Oct 9) in Namma Bangalore. As the South stars arrive in Bangalore for the grand ceremony, they remember the late Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar, who shocked everyone with his untimely demise last year. Filmfare Awards South association didn't fail to govern the popular Kannada actor as it presents the posthumous honor for late actor Puneeth Rajkumar. A special video has been played praising the extraordinary career of Puneeth Rajkumar. Puneet Rajkumar's sister Poornima Ramkumar has received the honorary award for the late actor, and she turned emotional remembering his brother. Fans also turned emotional and they expressed their love for the beloved actor by chanting "Appu Appu Appu..."

Jani master won the Best Choreographer award for Oorigobba Raaja in Puneet Rajkumar starrer 'Yuvarathna' and he also remembered the late actor by sharing his experience working with the actor for the film. Jani master has also played a recording of his phone call with Puneeth Rajkumar, and the late actor expressed his wish on working with Telugu actor Ravi Teja in the audio note.

Filmfare didn't miss to honor another late Kannada actor Chiranjeevi Sarja, who passed away due to heart attack, in June 2020 when he was 36. Chiranjeevi Sarja's wife Meghna Raj received the special honor, and said that "Filmfare is very dear to every actor, and Chiru too aspired to win one. Now his soul may rest in peace as I receive an award for him".
