BTS star Jung Kook, has released his new single 'Dreamers' which will be the FIFA World Cup 2022 anthem.
The upbeat track was released online ahead of the big opening ceremony set to take place on Sunday evening at 7:30 pm IST. The singer, who is one of seven members of the South Korean boy band, will perform the track LIVE on stage at 9 PM IST alongside Qatari singer Fahad Al-Kubaisi.
The 'Butter' hitmaker will join the likes of former 'Take That' star Robbie Williams as well as Craig David and Tinie Tempah when the tournament kicks off later this evening before the Group A match between Qatar and Ecuador.
Before the song's release, BTS Army spotted the singer enjoying his time around the place. From hopping on rollercoasters to treating himself at the amusement park, waving out to fans, Jung Kook was happy to spread some smiles.
The 25-year-old K-Pop singer will be amongst the many stars who take to the stage during the opening ceremony of the football tournament. Other names that are set to perform on stage include Nicki Minaj, Black Eyed Peas and Nora Fatehi among others.
A tweet from the BTS official account read, "Proud to announce that Jungkook is part of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Soundtrack will perform at the World Cup opening ceremony. Stay tuned!"
The opening ceremony will be at the 60,000-capacity Al Bayt Stadium, 40 km (25 miles) north of Doha. FIFA said the ceremony "will include tributes to the 32 competing teams, previous FIFA World Cup hosts and event volunteers."
