​5 Romantic Films To Look Forward To ​

If there is one genre that has stood the test of time, it has been the romantic genre. But for some time the movie business has moved away from romantic films for various reasons but come 2023 there has been a sudden surge in romantic films and some of the biggest makers are giving it a try.

Karan Johar who began with Kuch Kuch Hota back in 1998 is finally returning to the romantic genre with his upcoming film Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani. He is bringing together names likeDharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi,Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt together for the first time. There were talks in between about the film getting postponed but it is sticking to its release of July 28th.

This one brings back the hit jodi of Kartik Aryan and Kiara Advani after the success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. The film is a musical romance wherein Kartik plays Sattu and Kiara plays Katha. It tells the story of how they fall in love and what plans life has set for them. The makers have wrapped the film, with just one massive song with Kartik Aryan currently being shot. The film is directed by Sameer Vidwans who is known for his Marathi films like Anandi Gopal and Double Seat.

This romantic film brings Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan together for the first time. The plot revolves around two people Kapil and Somya who were crazily in love with each other but a few years after marriage they can't stand each other and are planning to get divorced or if there is a hidden agenda behind their divorce, only time will tell. The film at one point was called Luka Chuppi 2 as it was considered to be the spiritual sequel of the Kartik Aryan and Kriti Sanon 2018 hit film, but at the last moment the makers choose a new name for the film

This romantic film will see Ayushmann Khurrana back in his Pooja- avtaar. But this time he would be romancing Ananya Panday instead of Nushrratt Bharucha. The film recently postponed its release as the makers felt that its VFX needed more time to work on the project; it is now finally releasing on 25th August. Ayushmaan also recently lost his father due to prolonged incurable ailment.

This is probably one of the most exciting romantic projects out there as Sriram Raghavan who is known for making thrillers, is this time coming up with a thriller which will be represented as a love story. He is bringing diametrically opposite names like Vijay Sethupati and Katrina Kaif together and if the underground buzz is to be heard, the film is carrying a lot of positive buzz around itself from the people who already have gotten a chance to catch glimpses of it.
