Runa Rizvi, and her soulful voice rent the air – and why not, for, the evening was all about Daastaan-e-Sufi. Runa took everyone on a Sufi trip of Meera bhajans and other Sufi compositions of Bulleh Shah and Baba Farid.
Though it was season’s coldest day, Runa’s rendition of “Chhap Tilak Sab Dinhi” warmed the heart, and she followed it with “Mast Kalandar”.

She also sang “Tera Sajda” from the film “My Name Is Khan”. “Though I am a trained vocalist, and can sing Hindi film songs, ghazals, thumri, folk, Punjabi, etc, I think, this is the best that allows me to connect with God.
Sufism is the purest form of music,” said Runa. For most of the people, the event was an unforgettable experience. “It’s not often that one gets to listen to such musical concerts. I would call myself lucky to have this opportunity to have attended both the concerts. It was a treat to my ears longing to hear something meaningful,” said Gaurav Hajela.
