Veena Malik's jail sentence becomes the butt of all jokes

Controversy's favourite child Veena Malik seemed to have bid her adieu to undue rumours when she decided to marry and settle down. However, little did she know that she will be making headlines even when away from the limelight. The Pakistani model-turned-actress who became a household name in India post her stint in the Bigg Boss house, chose to give up her career and settle down with her husband, Asad Bashir Khan. As per a report in Hindustan Times, the actress, her businessman husband and the CEO of Pakistani media house, Mir Shakilur-Rahman, were sentenced to 26 years of imprisonment by an anti-terrorism court. They were charged for playing a regional song during her mock wedding on the channel last year. However, squashing reports of any wrongdoing, Veena claims to be innocent and has decided to file a petition in higher courts. In her defense, the actress has been quoted as saying that they believe that everything will be fine as they will move to a higher court to prove their innocence. The actress also argues that the show in question has been aired many times. In the report she also maintains that she is a true-born, educated Muslim and would never offend her religion. Veena also accuses the complainants claiming that they use her name to their advantage. She is astounded by the fact that the court proceedings, which she had asked to be put on hold due to her pregnancy, went ahead without her presence.
However, Veena's sentence has taken Twitter by storm. The Twitterati are busy taking digs at the actress' plight. Here's what they have to say.

Veena Malik's jail sentence becomes the butt of all jokes

The husband, voluntarily though unconsciously, had already sentenced himself to a lifetime of imprisonment/torture by marrying Veena Malik.

I reckon the prison that's going to keep Veena Malik captive will see a significant increase in footfall.

The Veena Malik judgement of Pak SC serves 2 purpose.
1-Allows her to settle in London.
2-Reminds the world there are courts in Pakistan.
