Shruti Seth recently expressed views on micro-blogging site with regards to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's campaign of #selfiewithdaughter. Addressing the PM, she had posted, "If you truly wish to empower women I urge you to condemn this kind of hatred being spread in your name. Regretfully, I deleted my initial tweet because of the backlash. But I stand by what I said and I'll reiterate it here: Selfies don't bring about change, reform does. So please try and be bigger than a photograph. Come on!" [sic]. Shruti also wrote about the backlash she faced on micro-blogging site because of her tweet about #selfiewithdaughter trend. The actress received support from social media enthusiasts after writing the open letter.

Within a short span of time, #SelfieWithDaughter started trending worldwide on micro-blogging site Twitter.. Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan celebrated the PM's initiative whole-heartedly. Known to be a doting dad, Big B posted an adorable picture of his daughter Shweta Nanda and wife Jaya Bachchan on Twitter and captioned it, "T 1010 - #SelfieWithDaughter Jaya Bachchan ji click selfie with Daughter @earth2angel . @SrBachchan @narendramodi."

Who amused one and all was controversial actor Kamaal R Khan. He went a step further by tweeting, "PM Modi Sir Kaash Aaj Aapki Bhi Ek Beti Hoti Aur Aap Bhi Selfie post karte Toh Kitna Accha Lagtaa."

Producer Ramesh Taurani shared an adorable picture with his daughters on Facebook where he lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Another actor who posted an adorable picture with his daughter was Ashish Chowdhry. Celebrating the trend, he posted a picture with his little girl and tweeted, "Not just #SelfieWithDaughter but #SelfieWithDaughters! N prouder than just proud! #Touché #SalaraSammah @narendramodi."

Rohan Joshi of AIB fame, had his own thoughts on #SelfieWithDaughter. Although he started out on a funny note by posting, " Good morning missing my little angel who is enjoying with the in laws ! #SelfieWithDaughter ," his tweets took on a more serious tone. He further posted, "In my humble opinion #SelfieWithDaughter is a great idea." Also adding, "Anything at all that showcases the idea of a daughter or girl child as a positive, beautiful, joyous experience in this country has my vote. If seeing pictures of happy parents with their daughters can change even one family's mind, that's a win."

Elizabeth director Shekhar Kapur seemed to get nostalgic with the #SelfieWithDaughter trend on Twitter. Speaking about his little girl Kaveri, he tweeted, "My #SelfieWithDaughter lives in my heart as the most precious gift I have ever had .." But that wasn't all. He further posted, "Lessons of Life : The immense wealth I give to my daughter ht #SelfieWithDaughter 30 second read that lasts a lifetime."

Politician Kiran Bedi is one proud mom and she had no qualms about stating the fact as she posted a picture of her along with her daughter on Twitter. She tweeted, "Just be.. #Selfiewithdaughter @narendramodi_in." What touched our hearts was a rare picture Kiran Bedi posted of herself as a little girl posing with her father. She further wrote, "A Selfie when there were no Selfies. When visionary parents nurtured their daughters. #Selfiewithdaughter @PMOIndia." This one had our hearts melting!

But it wasn't only Bollywood actors and politicans whow ere coming out in support of the PM's initiative. Cricketers, chefs and designers too proudly posted pictures with their daughter. Acclaimed chef Sanjeev Kapoor posted a picture with his girls with a touching message. He tweeted, "Our daughters are our pride! With @Alyonakapoor Rachita & Kriti #Family #SelfieWithDaughter #BetiBachaoBetiPadhao."

Famous fashion designer Neeta Lulla, whose Bollywood association goes a long way and is known to be one of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's favourite stylists, posted a touching message for her daughter Nishka Lulla, also a young, budding designer.
